RIGHTS

Our rights are an integral aspect of our daily lives, they legislate the manner of how we as human beings are treated and governed. Within the ANU, our rights are sometimes treated as an afterthought. ANU has made it abundantly clear upon our responsibilities as students but shy away from what our rights as students really are. If elected, Forward will:

1) Create a Charter of Student Rights and Responsibilities

2) Launch a campaign informing students their rights as students, medical patients, tenants, travelers and citizens

3) Establish an academic taskforce to crackdown on failures to arrange accessibility accommodations to students of all abilities.

4) Oppose any attempts by the ANU to weaponize the student code of conduct. This includes warnings or threats of retribution if students assemble peacefully in protest.

5) Advocate for student rights, tenant rights, consumer rights and healthcare rights.

6) Establish an independent monitoring committee for student rights. This committee will hold the power to launch public ad-hoc inquiries into defined issues relating to any infringements to student rights.
